Helping educators grow
so students can learn.

Our Story
Stacy and Tania met in 2018 when they both started working at an elementary school in Vermont. They immediately felt like kindred spirits, with shared values, similar life experiences, and big future dreams!
Like good educational nerds, they would spend hours talking about school systems, best teaching practices, and, of course, social and emotional learning. They stayed in touch when Stacy became a professor; Tania was a frequent guest lecturer in her classes, sharing her experience implementing social and emotional learning and trauma-informed practices.
When the opportunity arose for Stacy to write a professional book about SEL, she immediately asked Tania to co-author Positive Classroom Communities. It was a great opportunity for the two to stay in touch when Tania moved (and also continue talking about SEL)!
Waves of Growth was created as a result of many of their conversations, with the hopes of creating opportunities for teachers to learn about SEL in a way that is positive, accessible, and most of all, helpful.
